In January 1955 when hunting in the Bimbergtal, hunters came across a tent that had been erected by its inhabitant in the wood.
The tent owner came from the former German Democratic Republic, as reported by the „Dorfchronik Unna-Mühlhausen/Uelzen“. At the time he had lived for at least one year in the tent. Hunters had also previously come across the man in 1954.
