The Gerhart-Hauptmann-School was located near to the Landesstelle in Unna-Massen. Constructed at the end of the 1950s, it had been set up for schoolchildren that with their families had been registered by the Landesstelle.
Until 2009 all children at the Landesstelle required to attend school were taught there – independent of their age or the targeted form of school. Up to 900 pupils also learnt their first German words at this school.
The school was finally knocked down in 2015.
