The German-Greek association „Philia“ was founded in January 2015. Establishing this association was based on the philosophy of initiating and strengthening the friendship between Germans and Greeks in Unna and the surrounding areas. The idea is also reflected in the name, as the Greek word Philia means friendship.
The association mainly focuses on promoting the relationship between Germany and Greece, communicating knowledge about Greek life, culture and history and also initiating support campaigns.
Unna citizens with Greek roots can contact the association at any time with particular issues or problems. Celebrations, concerts and other events are regularly organised to make the association better-known and to promote peaceful coexistence.
The Santorini restaurant is the meeting place of the German-Greek association Philia.
