When Turkish guest workers relocated with their families to Unna and its surroundings in the 1960s, a class for the children of Turkish immigrants was set up in the Friedrichsborn School.
A Turkish-language teacher taught the children in local history, social studies and religion. The children visited the school for around three to six months until they were distributed to regular schools in the environs.
This service at the Friedrichsborn School was terminated in the 1980s.
